ExhaleHer is a sanctuary built on trust. We collect only what we need to run the community, we never sell your data, and we treat everything you share here with care. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

2. Information We Collect

When you join, we collect your name, email, and the profile details you choose to share — such as your role, industry, location, pronouns, and volunteer interests. As you use the platform, we also store the content you create: support requests, journal entries, daily check-ins, affirmations, forum posts, messages, RSVPs, and breathing session records.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide the platform's features — connecting you with peers, matching you with support, personalizing your wellness tools, and sending you reminders or notifications you've opted into. We may also use aggregate, de-identified data to understand and improve the community.

4. What Others Can See

Your community profile (display name, pronouns, bio, role, and badges) is visible to other members. Contact information such as email or external links is only shown if you explicitly opt in through your profile settings. Private messages are visible only to the participants of that conversation.

5. Data Security & Row-Level Access

Access to your personal data is restricted at the database level. Other members cannot read your private records (journals, reminders, check-ins, messages) — only you and our administrators can. We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, though no system is perfectly secure.

6. Cookies & Local Storage

We use your browser's local storage to remember your preferences — such as whether you've seen today's affirmation, your reminder schedule, and your map location. These stay on your device. We do not use advertising cookies or sell your browsing data.

7. Email & Notifications

We may email you for account purposes (welcome, password reset, approval) and, if you've opted in, community updates and reminders. You can adjust reminder settings anytime from the Reminder Settings page, and you may unsubscribe from non-essential emails.

8. Your Choices & Rights

You can edit or remove profile details at any time from your profile settings. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us through the Contact page. We will honor your request with care and respect.

9. Children's Privacy

ExhaleHer is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has joined, please contact us and we will remove the account.

10. Third-Party Services

We use trusted infrastructure and AI providers to power features like our wellness coach and email delivery. These providers process data only as needed to provide those services and under their own privacy commitments. We do not share your data with advertisers.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the platform grows. We'll notify members of significant changes. Continued use after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
